Admissions are starting from today. What arrangements have been made so that the students do not face any kind of problem?
Admissions in DU will be online for the second consecutive year. DU has learned a lot from last year. The problem faced by the students has been rectified this time. DU website has been upgraded. The helpline of various colleges including DU will answer every question of the students. Through the flow chart, the student will be able to understand each and every stage of admission. This time we have asked the colleges to appoint one or two officers of grievance redressal cell in their campus also, so that if any student reaches the college then his problem can be resolved. The names, mobile numbers, emails of the members of the admission committee have also been released online.
What steps have been taken to make the admission process transparent?
Colleges have been instructed to prepare charts every day, in which information about how many students applied, how many deposited fees and which students were rejected. With this, the student will be able to easily know whether he has got admission or not. If any college has not admitted the student, then the student will have to give full information stating the reason. If the student is not satisfied with the answer of the college, then he can complain to the college and then to the grievance redressal committee formed at the central level. The problem will be resolved within the stipulated time.
Is the entire admission process online in DU for the second consecutive year? Is online admission better for an institute like DU?
DU was planning for online admission long back. Due to Corona, it had to be adopted in haste last year, but now we have matured in it. From studies to examinations are being done online. DU is a central university, in which students from all corners of the country take admission. Earlier the student had to come to Delhi for admission, had to visit the colleges. If there was any shortage in admission, then one had to stay for a few days by renting a room, but now the student can easily take admission sitting at his home. The process has become quite simple. It is in the interest of the students.
Eight colleges have released 100 percent cutoff for ten courses? The cutoff of other courses has also been released much higher than last year? What are your views on this.
This time the circumstances were such that CBSE board exams were not held. The result of the students was released on the basis of evaluation. About 70 thousand students got more than 95 percent marks. Now when more number of students have more applications, then the cutoff will be high.
