It was decided to reopen Dhanbad Blind School, which has been closed since March 2020 due to the global pandemic covid-19. A decision to this effect was taken on Tuesday in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Deputy Development Commissioner Dashrath Chandra Das at his office at DRDA Bhawan.

It has been decided to reopen Dhanbad Blind School which has been closed since March 2020 due to the global pandemic COVID-19.

According to this, studies will be started again from July 1, 2021. A decision to this effect was taken on Tuesday in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Deputy Development Commissioner Dashrath Chandra Das at his office at DRDA Bhawan.

Disability pension of some children is also stopped.

Regarding the meeting of the members of Dhanbad Blind Relief Society, Deputy Development Commissioner said that 17 blind children of class 4 to class 10 were studying in the above school.

Due to the global pandemic last year, the school was closed in March 2020 keeping in mind the safety of the children.

Since then all the children are at their home and their study work is closed. Disability pension of some children is also stopped.

He informed that this school comes under Child Care Institute (CCI) and other centers of CCI are running. Therefore, it has been decided to start this school from 1st July 2021.

He told that this time efforts will be made to teach children by installing Braille script in Android mobile phones . Some other topics were also discussed during the meeting .

Deputy Development Commissioner Shri Dashrath Chandra Das, District Social Welfare Officer Smt. Sneh Kashyap, DCPO Sadhna Kumari, DSE, ADPO Shri Vijay Kumar, Society Secretary Shri Viresh Doshi, Co-Secretary Shri Vivek Upadhyay and others were present in the meeting.
