The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) civil services prelims exam, one of the most prestigious exams, will be held on Sunday. Lakhs of students will be involved in this. Every year usually 10 lakh students fill the form and 5-6 lakh give the exam.

Adequate number of magistrate police officers and police force have been deputed for peaceful conduct of examination and maintenance of law and order. Along with this, no candidate is allowed to carry mobile phone, pager or any other type of communication device in the examination center premises. If any candidate is caught with these devices, he/she will also be debarred from appearing for future commission examinations by taking disciplinary action.

Apart from this, the supervisor, assistant supervisor, invigilator and any personnel associated with the examination are also not allowed to take mobile or other communication devices inside. In addition to the district control room, a control room has also been set up in the commissioner’s office. Let us inform that this exam was earlier scheduled to be held on June 27 but it was postponed due to the second wave of COVID-19. To clear the UPSC exam, one has to go through three stages. First, Preliminary exam, second, main exam and third, interview. The candidate who succeeds in these three stages is selected for appointment to 712 vacant posts in IAS, IPS and other civil services.

Educationist Vikas Divyakirti says that students will be able to give their best performance only when they take the exam without stress. He said that if the question paper is difficult then do not panic. In such a situation the cutoff automatically comes down. Maybe some tough questions pop up all at once. There is no need to get stressed by this. do not worry. Further questions may be easier. Time management is extremely important. He has also given some tips to the students. Said that by adopting these tips, there is hope of getting success to a great extent.

These tips will come in handy during the exam

  • Take special care of time management. If there is no question, then leave it and move on immediately.
  • Go ahead by marking the questions in which you are confused. If you get time in the end, try to solve them.
  • If any question does not come at all, then it should be skipped so that there is no loss due to negative marking.
  • It is better to attempt the question in which it is possible to identify the correct answer with 50% certainty.
  • At least 55-60 questions must be attempted in the CSAT, so that the required score can be reached despite the negative marking. 40-45 questions can be enough if you are absolutely sure about the accuracy.
  • Attempting 80+ questions in General Studies gives better chances of selection. Do ask so many questions.
  • After solving 5-5 questions, keep marking them on the OMR sheet.
  • While filling the OMR sheet, check the question number frequently. The mistake in that does the most damage.

Experts advised the candidates to remain stress free. Said that if the question paper is difficult then do not panic. In such a situation the cutoff automatically comes down. Maybe some tough questions pop up all at once. There is no need to get stressed by this. do not worry.
