Four people have been killed in a blast during a Modi rally in Bihar’s capital Patna in 2013. The NIA (National Investigation Agency) special court, which has already convicted nine people in the case, today passed sentence. Four were sentenced to life imprisonment, two to life imprisonment and two to ten years in prison. Another convict was sentenced to seven years in prison. 

In 2013, when the NDA announced Narendra Modi as its prime ministerial candidate, a huge rally was held at Gandhi Maidan in Patna under the name ‘Hunkar’. Modi was the Gujarat CM at the time. Six explosions took place 150 meters away from the venue where Modi was scheduled to address the rally. The incident took place before Modi and other BJP leaders arrived at the venue. The blasts killed six people and injured more than 70. 

2013 Delhi bomb blast case (Patna Bomb Blast Case) in the NIA special court (NIA Special Court) delivered a sensational findings. The court has already convicted 9 terrorists in the case and sentenced them today. Capital Punishment was imposed on four convicts. Two others were sentenced to life imprisonment, two to ten years and one to seven years in prison. The verdict was handed down by National Investigation Agency (NIA) Special Court Judge Gurwinder Singh Malhotra. Eight years after the bombings, the convicts were sentenced.

Haider Ali, Noman Ansari, Mujibillah Ansari and Intiaz Alam were hanged while Umar Siddiqui and Azharuddin Qureshi were sentenced to life imprisonment. Ahmed Hussein faces 10 years in prison for Ferozo Aslam and seven years for Iftikhar Alam. The NIA court on October 27 convicted nine of the 10 accused. Fakhruddin was acquitted due to lack of strong evidence against him.

Eight years ago, a series of bomb blasts rocked Gandhi Maidan in Patna, the capital of Bihar. The BJP-led Hunkar Rally was held on October 27, 2013. Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi was the chief guest at the event. The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a crowd of protesters, including Narendra Modi. A few minutes earlier, a bomb had exploded at Patna Junction. Six people were killed in the two incidents. Another 89 were injured. Simi terrorists carried out the bomb blasts. But more people died in the stampede than the bomb blast. Despite the bomb blasts, Narendra Modi did not leave. Addressed to the public. He made it clear that he was not afraid of such things.

The next day the case went into the hands of the NIA investigating. A year after that, the NIA filed a chargesheet and added a total of 11 people to the list of accused. The case has been under investigation for 8 years. One of the accused, Tariq Ansari, died on the day of the bomb blasts, while Fakhruddin was acquitted. The remaining 9 were convicted by an NIA court. The sentences were finalized today.
