A water salute was given to the flight from the Maldives to Trichy. Under the Vande Bharat program, special flights are operated to repatriate Indians stranded abroad. Accordingly, 146 passengers were brought to Trichy Airport from the Maldives by an Air India Express flight. The aircraft was greeted by two fire engines on behalf of Trichy Airport.

Accordingly, 146 passengers were brought to Trichy Airport from the Maldives by an Air India Express flight. The aircraft was greeted by two fire engines on behalf of Trichy Airport.

Special flights are operated by the Vande Bharat project.

A total of 146 passengers arrived in Trichy on Friday afternoon on a special flight between Trichy and the Maldives.  While regular flights are banned due to the Corona freeze, only special flights are operated by the Vande Bharat project.

In that way, travelers from various countries including Singapore, Malaysia, Sharjah, Doha and Dubai are brought to Trichy from time to time.

Welcome with Water Salute.

As many as 146 passengers arrived in Trichy on Friday on the first Air India Express flight from the Maldives.

  It is customary to greet the spraying of water during the first flight.  Accordingly, the flight to Trichy at 1.50 pm was greeted with a water salute.

Passengers were also welcomed with bouquets.  Earlier, no passengers boarded the flight which departed from Trichy to the Maldives at 8.15 am.

  Instead, about 6.1 tonnes of vegetables, flowers and food items were sent to the Maldives.
