He also resigned from the party membership .. made serious allegations against the BJP. Shortly after resigning from the BJP, Maurya went straight to Akhilesh Yadav’s house and joined the Samajwadi Party (SP). To this extent dramatic developments took place in Lucknow on Tuesday.

However, there were similar counters from the BJP over Maurya’s resignation . According to Kamal Nath, Maurya had demanded another seat in the Assembly elections and resigned as the party was not ready for it. SP chief Akhilesh O shared a photo after Swami Prasad Maurya resigned as minister.
Popular leader Swami Prasad Maurya, who is fighting for social justice and equality in UP, was welcomed by Akhilesh Yadav, his colleagues tweeted. Elections to the 403-seat UP Assembly will be held in seven phases. Polling will be held from February 10 to March 7. The results will come on March 10.
