The results of the DSGMC elections will be out by Wednesday afternoon. The counting of votes has started from 8 am. It is being told that the counting of all the votes will be completed in five rounds and the trends of counting of votes have started showing up after 10 am.

Delhi Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Election 2021 Results.

The most important candidate in the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee elections is Sardar Manjinder Singh Sirsa, who is the chairman of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee. Sirsa is currently an elected member from the Punjabi Bagh ward, and is trying his luck from here.

The results of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) elections, the largest body of Sikhs in Delhi, will be declared on Wednesday. Votes for the committee’s election to be held every four years were held on Sundays. In these elections, there were 3,42,065 voters for a total of 46 wards in which 37.27 percent voters have exercised their votes as compared to 45.61 percent in the last elections.

Why is DSGMC election important?

The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee manages all the Gurdwaras within Delhi. Not only this, she also runs many schools, colleges and hospitals, apart from this, she also raises the issues of Sikhs in Delhi. Overall, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee is the largest organization of Sikhs in Delhi.

Main Parties and Main candidates.

The main contest is in three parties to win the title of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee. Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal), Shiromani Akali Dal (Delhi) and Jag Asra Guru Oat (Wake up). Out of these three parties, Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) is currently in power in the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee.

The most important candidate in the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee elections is Sardar Manjinder Singh Sirsa, who is currently the chairman of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee. Sirsa is currently elected member from Punjabi Bagh ward and this time again he is trying his luck from Punjabi Bagh ward. This time the highest voter turnout of 54.1 percent has been recorded in Punjabi Bagh ward itself. Manjinder Singh Sirsa has also been an MLA from Rajouri Garden on a BJP ticket from 2017 to 2020. Manjinder Sirsa was ahead in arranging oxygen and hospital etc. during the Corona period. Sardar Harvinder Singh Sarna is the General Secretary of Shiromani Akali Dal (Delhi) and former President of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee. The most important thing is that the current President of Gurdwara Management Committee Manjinder Singh Sirsa is challenging him in the same ward from which Punjabi Bagh ward is contesting.

Shiromani Akali Dal Delhi (Sarna) candidate leading from Hari Nagar ward.

It is being told that the election results are expected to be declared by 2.30 pm on Wednesday. According to the local administration, CCTV cameras have been installed at each counting centre. The counting of votes will be videographed so that there is no dispute.

Along with the candidates, the sangat is also waiting for its result. The counting of votes will take place on Wednesday amid surveillance by CCTV cameras. Election results for all 46 seats are expected to be declared by noon. The main contest is between Shiromani Akali Dal Badal (SAD Badal), Shiromani Akali Dal Delhi (Sarna) and Jag Asra Guru Ot (Jago). A party has to win at least 24 seats to win the DSGMC’s power.

Five counting centers set up for counting of votes

The preparation for counting of votes has been completed by the Directorate of Elections Gurdwara. The ballot boxes are kept securely in the strong room. For the counting of votes, a total of five counting centers have been set up at ITI Tilaknagar, ITI Khichdipur, BTC Pusa, Arya Bhat Polytechnic, ITI (Women) Vivek Vihar.

There are three tables for counting of seats

For the counting of votes, 552 employees have been deployed by the Directorate of Gurdwara. Three tables will be set up for counting of votes for each seat. Three employees will be posted at each table. Representatives of all the candidates will also be present there. This time 312 candidates including 132 independents are in the fray.

Elections are held every four years

As per the rules, elections to the DSGPC should be held every four years. But, due to some reason or the other, it is getting delayed. The first elections were held in 1974 and the second in 1979 but, after that, elections were held in 1995. Elections were also held in the year 2002, in the year 2007, in the year 2013 and in the year 2017.

In the year 2010, the Delhi Government made changes in Rule-14 of the Delhi Gurdwara Act 1971. As per the amended rules, only parties registered under the Societies Act can contest DSGPC elections. The registration of the contesting party should be at least one year old.
