After the havoc of the second wave of Corona stopped, the buses of kilometer scheme, which were closed for the last 58 days, are getting started from Friday. This has brought relief to the passengers as well as the operators of the scheme buses.

When the lockdown was imposed on May 3 to prevent the second wave of Corona, the buses of the kilometer scheme were stopped during the same period. However, some roadways buses continued to run, so that in case of emergency, if the passengers had to move from here to there, the transport service would be available.

Therefore, following the Kovid rules, some buses continued to run even in lockdown. Now that the situation has started returning to normal and the cases of corona are decreasing in the district, then gradually all the buses are being started. Orders have been received from the Transport Department to start the buses of kilometer scheme which have been closed for 58 days.

Crisis of livelihood in front of the drivers working on the buses with kilometer scheme.

In Jind depot 22 buses are running under kilometer scheme. The duty of 26 drivers has been imposed on these buses. Due to non-operation of the bus, there was a crisis of livelihood in front of the drivers working on the buses with kilometer scheme. In such a situation, running these buses will bring a lot of relief.

On a bus with kilometer scheme, the driver is from the transport committee and the operator is from the roadways. The Transport Department will pay Rs 26.92 per kilometer to the scheme bus operators and the income from the buses will go to the roadways.

Ajay Kumar, head of the private bus union, said that Jind Depot General Manager is deliberately delaying the operation of kilometers scheme buses, even though the orders to run them had already come.

Buses started as soon as orders were received from headquarters.

Although there are about 170 buses in Jind depot, including five pink buses, but still only 120 to 130 buses of the depot are running. The number of passengers has started increasing on many routes, so the number of buses is being considered to increase. The Rohtak route is always crowded with passengers.

Due to this, covid rules are not being followed in the buses. Daras migrant workers are coming in such large numbers that roadways buses are falling short in front of them. Most of the juice is being seen on the Rohtak route.

Jind depot traffic manager Virendra Singh said that orders for running the kilometer scheme bus were received from the headquarters late on Wednesday evening. After this the time table of buses was prepared. Buses with kilometer scheme will also be operational from Friday, which will benefit the passengers.
