After the launch of the portal, many people had problems in filing their tax returns.  The Center has directed taxpayers and chartered accountants to file their tax returns before September 30.  But the portal issue has not been resolved yet and many are finding it difficult to file their tax returns before the deadline.

The Income Tax Department’s portal www.incometax.gov.in was launched on June 7.  The service provider of the portal is Infosys, the second largest IT company in the country.
