Delhi Police was alerted by intelligence agencies a few weeks back in view of the possibility of drones being used for terror attacks on August 15. The Commissioner of Police had issued an order banning the use of any type of unmanned and flyable aerial vehicles, machines and other such objects in Delhi till August 16.

Security force personnel are stationed everywhere in Delhi. In view of the Independence Day celebrations, many iconic routes have been closed and strict vigil is being done on the Delhi border. In this regard, a meeting of top officials of Delhi Police was held on Friday afternoon, in which some important decisions were taken.

Taking the alert seriously, Delhi Police has increased the security of metro, markets, malls etc. Apart from this, special vigil is also being taken on the border of Delhi. Every passing vehicle is being searched.

Since many types of messages are also being circulated in this regard through social media and on August 15, an attempt can be made to gather people somewhere through a tool kit. In this connection, on Friday, an important meeting of the officers of Delhi Police and security agencies was also held in the Red Fort complex itself, in which all necessary precautionary measures were discussed to keep the security arrangements tight.

At the same time, Khalistani supporters are also expected to make a mess on August 15. Security agencies have received inputs that Khalistanis can hoist the Khalistani flag at many places including historical buildings in Delhi and Punjab. In view of this, the security system has been tightened.

It has also been feared in the input that Khalistani can instigate the farmers and hold a fierce demonstration. The intelligence alert said that Khalistan supporters can create disturbances during or after the Independence Day program on August 14 from 12 midnight to August 15. 

According to sources, in this latest alert it has been said that on August 15, Khalistani supporters may also try to create disturbances. It is feared that these people in police or army uniform may reach around the Red Fort and try to hoist the Khalistani flag there. A similar attempt can be made on any other important government building in Delhi. In view of this, the security of all important government buildings is being tightened.

Increased security of historical sites.

Delhi Police has been alerted by the intelligence alert received about Khalistani supporters amidst the inputs of the terrorist attack. The police has also alerted the special unit of its intelligence department.

According to the information, policemen in plain uniform are being deployed at historical and religious places. Apart from this, in view of August 15, a ban has been imposed on flying balloons and drones and Section 144 has been imposed in entire Delhi.

The borders will be sealed from this evening.
