Maharashtra Rain live update: After Konkan, Kolhapur, now heavy rains in Nagpur.

Heavy rains are falling in various parts of Maharashtra.  This torrential rain has literally created a backlog in the Konkan.  At the same time, water is stagnant in many places in Kolhapur district.  Heavy rains are now seen marching towards Vidarbha.  It has been raining heavily in Nagpur for the last hour.

 It has been raining heavily in Nagpur for the last one hour.  Due to torrential rains, water has started accumulating in low lying areas in many places.  Nagpur Observatory has warned of torrential rains in Vidarbha including Nagpur district in the next 48 hours.  Heavy rains have disrupted public life.

The situation in Konkan has become alarming and many cities have been flooded.  The city of Chiplun is in dire straits.  The entire river has flooded the city due to the flooding of the Vashisht river.  All the shops in the city as well as the houses are flooded.

Many homes have been submerged.  The floors of houses as well as buildings have been completely submerged.  The city of Chiplun is getting surrounded by water.  All avenues to Chiplun are closed, so are relief routes.  This is the first time since 2005 that such a backlash has been reported in Chiplun.

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray took stock of the flood situation in Konkan.  Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sidhudurg District Collector Konkan Divisional Commissioner, Ratnagiri District Guardian Minister Anil Parab, Sidhudurg District Guardian Minister Uday Samant and Raigad District Guardian Minister Adi Tatkare.

Ordered to deliver all help from the emergency department immediately.  Helicopters have also been ordered to evacuate civilians from flood-hit villages and towns.  Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray also directed the people’s representatives and senior officials in the administration to immediately send additional boats to evacuate the people stranded in the floods.
