Due to this, now IPS Iqbalpreet Singh Sahota will be the new DGP of Punjab in place of Dinkar Gupta. Sahota has been given additional charge of DGP as Dinkar Gupta has gone on leave for some time. Let us tell you that earlier the name of Siddharth Chattopadhyay was also involved in this race. Earlier Vini Mahajan was removed from the post of Chief Secretary. Anirudh Tiwari has now been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Punjab in his place.

After Punjab DGP Dinkar Gupta went on leave, the Punjab government on Saturday handed over the charge of DGP to Iqbal Preet Singh Sahota with immediate effect. Sahota is presently posted at Special DGP Armed Battalion Jalandhar and Dinkar will take additional charge of DGP during Gupta’s leave.

On the other hand, the name of DGP is not getting clearance due to the establishment of many centers of power in Punjab’s Charanjit Singh Channi government. It is also said that for the leave of Dinkar Gupta, Home Secretary Anurag Verma had also met the Chief Minister with the file but at present his file has been returned. A decision on this will be taken later.
Let us inform that earlier, two days after the formation of the Chief Minister Charanjit Singh government, Vini Mahajan was given the Chief Secretary of the state and in his place Anruddha Tiwari was made the new Chief Secretary of Punjab. Along with this, many more officers were replaced.
Five IAS and five PCS officers transferred
The Punjab government has changed five IAS and five PCS by issuing an order. The special thing is that KK Yadav’s name is in the ongoing transfers or orders giving additional charge. KK Yadav- Secretary Civil Aviation has now been deployed along with Secretary Public Relations.
These officers were also transferred.
