Orders issued by Chief Minister MK Stalin | Committee to set rules for online classes.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has ordered the formation of a committee to lay down rules for online classes.

Online class harassment by teacher Rajagopalan at PSBB school.

Rajagopalan, a teacher at Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan School in KK Nagar, Chennai, has created a controversy by sexually harassing students.

Rajagopalan is currently under arrest and imprisoned under laws including Pocso.

In this situation, Chief Minister MK Stalin has ordered to register all online classes in Tamil Nadu. 

Due to the Corona epidemic, educational institutions not only in Tamil Nadu but all over India have been shut down and classes have been taken online for about a year. 

A consultative meeting was held today at the General Secretariat to discuss the nature of some of the recent news on the activities of these classes and to take immediate action in case of errors in the online classes.

The Chief Minister inspected some of the recent incidents that took place in an internet class and the action being taken against it.

The Chief Minister has announced the following decisions and orders to ensure that such incidents do not happen again and that legal action will be taken against those involved in other school colleges.

That classes conducted over the Internet must be registered by the school and reviewed from time to time by a committee consisting of both representatives of the school administration and the Parent-Teacher Association concerned.

Helpline to report online class complaints.

A committee will be set up comprising of the Commissioner of School Education, the Director of College Education, the Computer Crime Prevention Unit and police officers, educators and psychologists on the issue of sexual harassment in schools and educational institutions in the state.

He said action would be taken against those who misbehaved in internet classes under the law of “pocso” and advised students to create a helpline number to report their complaints.

The honorable chief minister MK Stalin also directed the state’s cybercrime police to immediately receive complaints about online classes and take immediate action to ensure that the students involved are not harmed.
