A full curfew was imposed in Tamil Nadu as the second wave of Corona spread rapidly. Various relaxations have been given in the curfew as the corona spread has begun to decline. As the curfew has been extended till 6 am on the 12th, permission has been granted to open places of worship in all districts from today (the 5th).

Following this, disinfection and cleaning of all places of worship took place yesterday. According to the order of the Commissioner of the Corporation Vishnu Chandran at the famous Nellaiyappar temple in Tirunelveli, the cleaning staff was engaged in the task of spraying and cleaning the disinfectant under the supervision of Health Officer Murugesan. All temples in Tirunelveli and Tenkasi districts were cleaned, including the Tenkasi Kasi Vishwanathar Temple and the Sankara Narayana Swamy Temple in Sankarankoil.

Temples across the district, including the Nagaraja Temple in Nagercoil in Kumari district, will be reopened at 5.30 am today.

Similarly, mosques and churches were cleaned and prepared. Visitors to places of worship are advised to observe personal intervals and wear masks.
