Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated several projects during his visit to Varanasi on the afternoon of 25 October. It also includes smart city plans. The most important is the bio gas plant in Shahanshahpur which will become a major medium of population planning. Apart from this, there is underground parking in the town hall ground to get rid of the jam.
Townhall Parking and Park
Park and underground parking is being constructed by Varanasi Smart City in the townhall complex at Maidagin. In this, the park will be equipped with entrance plaza and ticket booth, open gym, yoga garden, sand pit, children’s open space, landscaping, footpath, waking track, table area, gazebo, seating area, vending zone etc. The entire campus will be made handicap friendly. Ramps, seating areas, handrails to hold the stairs, facility for wheel chair etc., underground parking is being made. 55 hundred square meters construction area. There are separate entrance and exit gates. The total capacity of the parking is to accommodate 200 wheelers and 150 four wheelers. In order to increase its capacity in future, hydraulic stack system is also being installed.
Bio gas plant
Bio gas plant is ready in Shahanshahpur. Here CNG gas will be produced from cow dung and Khar-Katwar. For this, arrangements will be made for cow dung from the cows kept in the Kanha park of the Municipal Corporation. Apart from this, cow dung will also be procured from the farmers of the area. This bio gas will act like CNG from which vehicles will be operated.
You will be shocked to see Chakra Pond
Sigra, a posh area of the city. An ancient pond named Chakra is situated here. The land mafia was noticed and the existence of the pond was being destroyed by dumping garbage and debris. The Municipal Corporation took cognizance of the news published in the newspapers. The pond was beautified with the Smart City scheme. Two crores were spent. Now everyone is getting dizzy seeing the pond that after all this is the same pond which was fighting for its existence.
Facade work on Ghat
Facade work has been done on five Ghats of Ganga. Keeping the historicity and mythology preserved with two crore rupees, a grand form has been given. The five Ghats are Dashashwamedh, Sheetla, Ahilyabai, Munshi and Darbhanga Ghat.
