Rs 12,070 crore bank linkage to 3,80,162 lakh SHGs through the Rural Poverty Alleviation Mission (SERP) by 2021-22. Panchayati Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao said that CM KCR had sanctioned the first tranche of Rs 200 crore this financial year with the intention of promoting women’s self-help groups despite financial difficulties in the corona crisis.

Panchayati Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao said that CM KCR had sanctioned the first tranche of Rs 200 crore this financial year with the intention of promoting women’s self-help groups despite financial difficulties in the corona crisis.

He said the government would pay the interest taken by the women’s unions, as part of which the CM had released the amount. In the past women were said to have developed financially after the formation of Dwakra communities from a situation where they depended on their husbands for every small expense.

Rural women are showing vigilance in borrowing and repaying every year.  Paving the way for self-employment with linkage loans provided by banks.  The government is also financing self-help groups during the Corona crisis.  Last year the authorities achieved the bank linkage loan target.  Efforts are being made to reach the target within the current financial year as well.  The government is providing interest free loans through the Rural Development Department to finance self-help groups.  The target is to disburse Rs 360 crore 61 lakh 57 thousand loans in the district for the financial year 2021-22.Rural women are showing vigilance in borrowing and repaying every year.

Members of women’s associations use these loans for business expansion or self-employment.  Banks are offering low interest loans.  Those who repay on time are credited with interest on their accounts.  Three months after the start of this financial year, the Corona Lockdown has had a severe impact on all sectors in May and June.  But the process of bank linkage lending was not hampered in any way.

SERP‌ officials in the district so far have disbursed 10.93 per cent of the targeted loans, ranking 17th in the state.
