A bench of Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice MR Shah expressed displeasure with the Delhi Police for not taking any action even after ten days of the letter of the ED director making some allegations against the jail workers. The court ordered the Delhi Police Commissioner to investigate the role of the jail.

Unitech group promoters Sanjay Chandra and his brother Ajay Chandra will not be allowed to come out of jail until some money is returned from abroad.

The Supreme Court made this remark on Wednesday after senior advocate Vikas Singh said that Sanjay Chandra has been in jail for the last four years and should be granted bail now.

On a plea by Chandra’s counsel, the bench said that your client knows very well where the money is. The report said that the jail premises were used for illegal activities, to influence witnesses.
