Deputy commissioner Sadiq Hussain gave this information. Himachal Pradesh CM Jai Ram Thakur has also confirmed the incident during the assembly session.

This is the second major landslide in Kinnaur in less than a month. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that 50 to 60 people were feared trapped under the debris of the landslide. As part of the rescue operation, so far 4 people including the driver and conductor of the bus have been pulled out from the debris. At present, teams of Indian Army, ITBP, NDRF and Police are engaged in the rescue operation. Still some landslides are taking place, but in the meantime the rescue operation is going on.

NDRF team has rescued nine people. It is being told that four people themselves came out of the rubble in injured condition and reached the road. Rescue work is going on, but due to intermittent falling debris, the rescue work is being affected.

According to DSP Bhavanagar Raju, only the driver of the Himachal Road Transport Corporation bus going from Reckong Peo to Haridwar is left. Everyone else is buried in the rubble. According to the driver, there were 30 to 35 passengers in the bus. It is being told that a truck and five to six small vehicles, including a bus, have also been hit by the debris. So far four people have been rescued. Debris kept falling from the hill for a long time. All the officers of the district administration have left for the spot with the police officer investigation squad.
