Happy Krishna Janmashtami 2021.

The preparations for Shri Krishna Janmotsav have been completed in all the temples of Braj.  On the occasion of Janmashtami on Monday, not only in Mathura, the birthplace of Lord Krishna, Kanha’s birth will be celebrated with pomp in all major villages including Gokul, Vrindavan, Baldev, Mahavan, Badgram, Barsana, Rawal.

 On Janmashtami, at different times in all the temples of Braj, the milk ceremony with milk from cows of Gaushala and Mahabhishek with milk, curd, boora, honey and ghee, as well as the first aarti of the morning i.e. Mangala Aarti will be seen.  During this, devotees will be able to see all the programs of Lord Krishna’s birth online as well as visiting the temples.  The birth of Shri Krishna will be telecast live on Doordarshan on the midnight of 30th August from Shri Krishna birthplace and Dwarkadhish in Mathura.

From Mathura to Gokul, such a birthday celebration will be celebrated in temples.

On Monday night at the birthplace of Shri Krishna, the program will start with Shehnai and Nagade.  After this, there will be a program of Abhishek and Pushpanjali in Bhagwat Bhavan from 10 am.  Whereas the main program of birth Mahabhishek will be done at 11 o’clock in the night with the worship of Ganesh-Navgraha etc. 

Kanha will be consecrated with the ringing of bells and conch shells at 12 o’clock at the time of the birth of Shri Krishna.  After this, the doors of the temple will remain open till one and a half in the night to see the birth of Lala.

 Nandotsav and programs will be organized in Baldev and Gokul to commemorate the birth of Kanha.

In Nandotsava, the joy of the birth of Shri Krishna is expressed by plundering various kinds of toys, clothes, money, fruits and flowers and other items.  Nandotsav is organized in many temples of Braj on Janmashtami.  Apart from this, Dadhikandha is organized in Banke Bihari of Vrindavan.  In which the sevayat of the temple play Holi by mixing turmeric in curd.  It is symbolic only in the joy of the birth of Kanha.

 Nandotsav and programs will be organized in Baldev and Gokul to commemorate the birth of Kanha.  Along with this, birth programs will also be held in temples in Vrindavan’s Prem Mandir, Radhaballabh Temple, Barsana and Rawal.  The consecration and birth anniversary of Lala will be celebrated in the Radharaman temple for two hours in the morning.

Mathura.

The city ​​of Mathura located in Uttar Pradesh is known as the birthplace of Shri Krishna. The main temple here is Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi itself. Apart from this, Yamuna bank and Dwarkadhish temple are also very famous among devotees. Lakhs of devotees reach Mathura on Janmashtami.

At Dwarkadhish temple of Mathura, on the day of Janmashtami, after Mangala Aarti, Panchamrit Abhishek will be performed at 6.30 am and adornment will be done at 8.30 am.  After this there will be Gwal Darshan and Rajbhog Aarti.  Utthapana at 7:30 in the evening, in the evening and at 12:45 in the night there will be darshan of birth.

Vrindavan.

Vrindavan is located about 10 km from Mathura. This area is related to the childhood of Shri Krishna. In olden times there was Vrinda i.e. Tulsi forest here, that is why this place is called Vrindavan. Even today, Tulsi plants can be seen in pairs in Nidhivan of Vrindavan. It is believed that even today in Nidhivan, Shri Krishna creates raas with the gopis. Sri Banke Bihari Temple of Vrindavan is also world famous. On Janmashtami, Vrindavan and Banke Bihari temples attract huge crowds of devotees.

On the other hand, in the Vrindavan Banke Bihari temple, at 12 o’clock in the night, the deity of Shri Krishna will be anointed with milk, curd, boora, honey and ghee.  After this Kanha will be dressed in yellow clothes.  As usual, Mangala Aarti will be seen in Banke Bihari temple at 2 o’clock in the night and Thakur ji will be offered bhog.  After this, devotees will be able to visit the temple till 5.30 in the morning.  Nandotsav will be organized on 31st August from 8.45 am to 12.00 pm and after that Dadhikandha will be organized.

Gokul.

The distance of Gokul from Mathura is about 10 km and from Vrindavan is about 25 km. Shri Krishna spent most of his childhood in Gokul. The devotees have deep faith in the Nand Mahal located here. Here there is Ramnareti nearby. It is said that Shri Krishna used to play here.

Govardhan Parvat.

The distance of Govardhan Parvat from Mathura is about 30 km. This place is related to Shri Krishna and Devraj Indra. It is believed that at this place, Shri Krishna lifted the Govardhan mountain on his little finger and saved the people of the area from the heavy rain caused by the wrath of Devraj Indra. The tradition of circumambulating the Govardhan mountain is still prevalent today.
