Bonalu celebrations are in full swing in the twin cities. Bonalu noise can be seen on any street in the city. Bonalu festivals are held like the Kanula festival at the Mahabali Ammavari temple in the old town of Laldarwaja Simhavahini, which has a history of over a hundred years in Bhagyanagar itself. Large numbers of women are flocking to present the much-loved Sunday bonas to the sellers. Plants were paid for just at home in the wake of last year’s corona epidemic.
This time the virus slowed down a bit and the government offered the plants a chance to pay. Every year during the last week of the month of Ashwadh, Bonalu celebrations are held in the old town. The authorities have already made all the arrangements. Cuelines were set up specifically for women carrying bonnets. Also, the police have made armory arrangements to prevent security problems. Also, traffic restrictions were imposed in 19 areas where the procession of the Goddess took place. Traffic restrictions will be in place today and tomorrow. The Mateshwari Temple in Chandulal Bela, the Akkana Madanna Temple in Haribouli, the temples in Shalibanda, Uppuguda, Chandrayangutta, Miralam Mandi and Gauliguda are decorated with electric lights. Culinaries were set up specifically for women who submit bonas.
