The BCCI has appointed a central COVID-19 testing agency for the second phase of the IPL being played in the United Arab Emirates. Through which the test reports of players and support staff are sent to the board along with the respective franchises.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has appointed a central COVID-19 testing agency in the UAE to take the test reports of each player and support staff along with the respective franchisees to the board in the second phase of the IPL. Talking to news agency ANI, a source said, Earlier the teams were allowed by the respective testing agencies but this time the BCCI has appointed VPS Healthcare to conduct all the COVID-19 tests. Now all the reports are sent to the board apart from the respective teams. The Board of Control for Cricket in India felt that it was important to have a central testing agency as it would help in monitoring all the tests and also the test results would be available to the board immediately.

A franchise official said, The Board of Control for Cricket in India has asked the teams to not only check the body temperature of everyone involved in the bio bubble but also to hand over the data to the board on the day of the match. Each franchise will have to send the data to the BCCI on the day of the match before leaving the team hotel on the field.
