WTT Contender: Manika Batra won bronze in singles, also confirmed silver medal in doubles

Manika faced Wang Yidi in both of her semi-final matches on Saturday. While Manika was defeated in the singles category, Yidi was defeated in the doubles category. She was defeated in the women’s singles semi-finals. Yedi defeated Manika 11-7, 7-11, 13-11, 10-12, 11-7, 11-5 in this six-seat match. Earlier in the day, she and Archana Girish Kamath reached the finals of the women’s doubles. In the semi-finals, the Indian duo defeated Wang Yidi and his partner Liu Weshan.

India won this match by scores of 11-6, 8-11, 11-6, 5-11, 11-8. His silver medal was secured as a result of this. Earlier in the quarterfinals, Manika Batra and Archana Kamath defeated Lucie Gauthier and Audrey Zarif of France 11-6, 8-11, 11-8, 8-11, 11-6.
